    Update: January 2022

Hi everyone! Well, here we are again. I first started this blog in 2012, which makes me feel incredibly old. Over the years I’ve taken a few breaks due to a busy schedule and an overworked brain. I even didn’t read as frequently as I used to anymore because I was completely drained and exhausted after working on my PhD or starting my new job in Belgium. For 2022, ten years after I first started the blog, I wanted to make a specific book-related New Year’s resolution: I want to read more, I want to blog again, I want to share pictures of books on Bookstagram again. Without pressure to…

    Update: November

Hello fellow booklovers! It’s been quite and exciting few months over here! I decided to change the path I had taken and start a new chapter back home. So I quit my job (a very interesting postdoc at the University here) and I’m moving back to Belgium in less than two weeks! I’ve been preparing to move these past few days. Even though I’ve moved like 10 times in the last 5 years, I’m still always a bit overwhelmed by all the logistics that come with it. There are so many people to contact! But I’m very excited about this change. A whole new realm of opportunities is opening up…

    Update: September

Hello fellow booklovers! It’s been a while… I took a bit of a hiatus from blogging/bookstagramming because I was stressing about finishing my PhD thesis, starting my new job and figuring out what I wanted to do in life. I was planning on starting again in the beginning of October, but then my grandfather passed away last week and I didn’t feel up to blogging either. A few days ago I said a final goodbye to my Opa and I now feel, after the most hectic, stressful and sad month of this year, ready to write some reviews and talk about books again! So here’s a little overview of what…

    Update: June 2019

We are halfway through 2019! I honestly still can’t believe it. It feels like yesterday I was coming back from Australia but it’s been over a year now! With the arrival of July I’m now also officially starting the write-up of my PhD thesis. If all goes well I will be handing in in September. Exciting! And terrifying. The last few months have been so hectic I have absolutely no clue what books I bought, received, read or reviewed. It’s all such a blur! So as much for you as for me, here’s an overview of my last month in books.     Read   In The Night Wood –…

    Update: March 2019

A bit late with this one, but I still owed you all an update with all my book news from the previous month. I have now officially entered the last 6 months of my PhD. This means I’m frantically trying to wrap everything up in the lab and have started writing up. These couple of months have been and are going to be busy for me. And that’s not even considering the incredible stress of job hunting! I hope to soon finish all the lab work so that I can settle in to a pattern of thesis writing, reading, blogging and crafting. I’ve received and bought an amazing selection of…
